Thank you for stopping by!

In all of the years I have been teaching I've had the wonderful opportunity to work with kids of all ages - from 4 to 82!  I am so happy to be helping kids find the great joy of playing, creating and learning more about music. I believe every child is unique and gifted in their own way, and it is truly my greatest hope to encourage them in those gifts and create confidence as they are learning the joy of playing the piano.

Music provides kids a path for creativity. It has been proven to boost test scores, teach life skills, and help a child develop confidence and focus. (See more benefits below!) I realize that children have different learning styles and during the first class I will find out your child's particular style. I want to provide the right materials for them.

I offer lessons in my home studio, as well as coming to your home. I also offer online classes and feel confident to offer quality Zoom classes. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You will find my fees are extremely competitive and I believe your kids will be excited to learn more each week. You can contact me directly by phone or email, the info is at the bottom of every page. You may also leave your contact information below. I do check my messages daily and I will get back to you within 24 hours.

What parents and kids are saying...

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MUSIC?

  • Playing the piano increases the production of endorphins, which are hormones that make us feel happy

  • Playing the piano helps to relieve stress and improve concentration.

  • Playing the piano improves hand-eye coordination

  • Playing the piano improves mental alertness and communication skills

  • Playing the piano provides an emotional and creative outlet,

  • Playing the piano improves fine motor skills, so important in kids.

  • Playing the piano improves discipline as children set time for daily practice.

  • Playing the piano will also help children to learn other instruments, as well as singing!

Questions I am often asked...

HOW MUCH SHOULD MY CHILD BE PRACTICING AT HOME?

As it is in everything, practice is required to learn. Of course, everyone of all ages can practice more - the more practice, the quicker and better. Here are some suggested times based on 5 days a week.

  • 4-5 yrs. – 5-10 minutes a day (25-50 minutes per week)

  • 6-9 yrs. – 10-15 minutes a day (50-75 minutes per week)

  • 10-12 yrs. – 15-20 minutes a day (75-100 minutes per week)

  • 13 yrs. and up – 20-30 minutes or more a day

RECITALS

  • I do not traditionally do recitals. But I believe kids need encouragement and a goal so I encourage you to be involved in your child's practice and at least once every month ask them to show you something new that they have been learning. Once every 4-6 months, break out the dessert and have them do a 'performance' of their favorite two songs.  Your participation means a lot!

WHEN IS TUITION DUE?

  • Tuition is billed at the beginning of the month and can be paid with Zelle, Venmo, check or cash, book payment at time of issue.

WHAT ABOUT CANCELLATIONS, VACATION OR SICKNESS?

  • Please let me know at the beginning of the month if your child is going to be away for vacation, camp, etc. Those weeks will be deducted from monthly fee.

  • Canceled classes require at least 48 hours’ notice. I will do my best to give you a make up day that works for us both.

  • If something happens at the last minute (sickness or family emergency) please let me know as soon as possible.  Again, I will do my best to work out a make up day with you.

  • If I have a schedule conflict, I will let you know at the beginning of the month.

  • Lastly, please make every effort to be on time. Some days students are back to back. I want your child to have all the time they are slotted for.
